Today is the day of the monkey A very eerie but well done film. Don't look for any yuks in this flick, because there aren't any. I didn't see any monkeys either - except in the title. However the camera work is good, and the choice of music is excellent! This film maker is very talented!

Planet of the Apes Movie Trailer This is one of the few movies where the remake is better than the original. These are the most evil looking chimpanzees that I have ever seen!

Jolly Chimp Toy A classic mechanical monkey toy. However, I thought that it was an excellent example of how many people feel - working at a job that is mechanically repetitive, but not emotionally fulfilling. Wow! I am waxing philosophical on this post! Sorry, I'll try not to repeat it.
Skinless Robotic Chimp Head Someone took the skin off of a Sharper Image Robotic Chimp Head, and then filmed it in the dark - with some Halloween noises thrown in. Very eerie!
Dancing Gorilla One of the better CG (computer generated) monkeys that I have seen. If you lived through the 80's you may also recognize the lyrics.

Rolling Rock Beer Ape Commercial Rolling Rock states that it couldn't run this commercial on television, because of complaints. However there is some controversy about this. Please see the comments for this post. I have invited Ron Stablehorn of Rolling Rock to comment on this matter. No matter that the truth is, I think that it is still a great commercial. The beer is pretty good too!

No monkeys were harmed in the creation of this blog. However, two humans were injured. I got a paper cut (stings like hell!) while loading my printer, and my wife's feelings were hurt because I was too busy blogging to watch Two and a Half Men with her.
We are both expected to recover.

I have been asked by a number of people about my guidelines for the content of Monkey Prose. A number of these inquiries came from primate conservation groups.
* No adult content material. This site is about primates, not porn.
* No material that would be considered to be in bad taste.
My goal for this blog is to present information about primates that is interesting, amusing, and/or educational.
